Kareoke brings out the strangest things

Standard

First of all, when you go to kareoke, drinks are ordered by pitcher not by glass.  So it is guaranteed to be an interesting time, if nothing else.  Add tamborines, maracas, and bad Madonna songs, and you have a typical weekend night for many kareoke fans.

This particular moment was oddly spurred by a Celion Dion song, “My Heart Will Go On.”  I couldn’t help to explain that we sang this Titanic theme with my junior high choir at the height of Titanic-mania, and with our pubescent hormones raging, EVERY single day that we sang this song, some 13 year old girl, left the room crying saying “It was just too much… just so sad!!” 13 years later in Japan, we felt it necessary to reenact this ridiculousness.  You never know what parts of your life will come full circle. 🙂
